To upgrade Acronis Files Connect (formerly ExtremeZ-IP), simply run the latest installer which can be obtained by clicking the "Check for Updates" button in the Acronis Files Connect Administrator or from our Latest Releases page.
It is not necessary to uninstall and reinstall the program (or recommended since you will lose all your settings).
If you are using Acronis Files Connect in a clustered environment you will need to run the new installer on each node when the node is passive. The cluster settings will remain intact and do not need to be re-configured.
If you see the following error:
"An access error occurred trying to remove the service executable for the previous version of Acronis Files Connect. This can happen when some other Windows programs are running (such as Event Viewer). Close other Windows applications and run the installer again."
- Check to see if Extremez-ip.exe or Acronis Files Connect administrator.exe is running from the task manager (if so, you may need to kill the process manually)
- Rename the folder C:\Program Files\Acronis\Access Connect (or "C:\Program Files\Group Logic\ExtremeZ-IP" in older versions) to "C:\Program Files\Acronis\Access Connect old" ("C:\Program Files\Group Logic\ExtremeZ-IP_old")
- Try installing again
- Remove the Access Connect old directory
