Mount device manually.

  1. You saved a disk backup on a USB drive and are trying to mount it on a Linux system.
  2. You use the Mount image function and select backup directly from the USB drive.
  3. Mount operation fails with the following error message:

Error code: 6
Module: 196
Lineinfo: fc28f0b681003c3a
Fields: $module : disk_bundle_lxa64_pic_43916
Message: The type of location is unsupported

Direct device access is not supported by the mount feature.

In order to access the image, you need to select the path via mount point, not directly.

If the device is not mounted automatically, you need to do it manually using the following command:
mount /sdc1 /mnt/usb
where /sdc1 is the device you want to mount /mnt/usb is the desired target mount point.

After having mounted the device, use the mount point (/mnt/usb) to select path to the image you want to mount.
