Create a public folder in Microsoft Exchange Server to fix the issue

Make sure the file is included in a sync with the Acronis Cloud and the synchronization has completed successfully before generating a public link for that file

Introduction

Acronis Software is not always able to detect storage hardware correclty in the backup source selection or Disk Management components. This is often caused by a conflict with hardware, its drivers or third-party software. There is a huge number of possible storage configurations, and we cannot test every single one beforehand.

This issue can also be caused by an incorrect or unfinished installation of the product.

You attempt to run a backup from virtual guest and get this error. Change location of virtual guest or change block size of used datastore, so that the datastore blocksize and blocksize of virtual guest matches.

Depending on your scenario you can use one of these methods to "copy" a backup plan to another machine.

Method 1: Applying one backup plan to multiple machines

This way you can apply one backup plan to multiple machines without the need to configure it anew every time.

You can uninstall Acronis Backup Client by starting the installation package and selecting Install Backup Client and then Remove or by running /usr/lib/Acronis/BackupAndRecovery/uninstall/uninstall. Should this way not work, you can uninstall Backup Client manually.

Follow these steps to completely delete Backup Client from your system:

1. Remove all modules from dkms:
# dkms status
snapapi26, 0.7.46, 2.6.9-1.667, i686: installed

Delete the redundant task script using Schedmgr

Do the following to collect system report:

  1. Select the node you want to collect system report from:
  2. Scroll down to Diagnostic info and click Download:

Symptoms

  1. On a Mac, you create file-level backup of some folders.
  2. You download the archive to a Windows machine.
  3. You try to open the archive.
  4. Error appears:
    Windows cannot open the folder.
    The Compressed (zipped) Folder <path> is invalid.

Cause

Windows Explorer cannot extract a folder from the backup created on a Mac.

Solution

Use a third-party archiver (e.g. 7-Zip) to work with the archive.

There are some steps that need to be performed manually to fully migrate Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 machines from BackupAgent to Acronis Backup Cloud

It enables service providers to offer multitenant backup service through Windows Azure Pack. Using the service tenants can back up both cloud virtual machines and on-premise infrastructure.

Generally, you can uninstall Agents for Windows using Programs and Features of the Control panel.

Alternatively, you can uninstall agents using this script:

Acronis backup software listed above supports vCloud Air. The functionality of these Acronis products has been successfully tested in vCloud Air environment.

To back up virtual machines in vCloud Air install Acronis Agents inside the guest operating systems of the VMs. You can restore entire machines or individual disks or files and folders.

Installation

To back up machines in an ESXi Free environment, regular Acronis Agent for Windows/Agent for Linux (as opposed to Acronis Agent for ESX/ESXi or Acronis Agent for VMware) should be installed inside the virtual machines. Agentless backup is not supported.

Mailbox backup fails with error "Cannot open public folder or mailbox '<mailbox>'".

If you need to change the account used by Acronis to log in to vCenter or ESX(i) host in version 5 and 6:

You back up disks or an entire Linux machine. In the backup plan, you specify exclusions. Specified files/folders are not excluded from backup and backup completes with warning "File exclusion is not supported".
