Replication may take more time to complete if the original source VM has been migrated to a different datastore due to CBT tracking loss

The backup or replication task fails with the "Instances list is empty" error. This article describes the possible reasons and solutions to this issue

Symptoms

Replication fails with the following error:

The disk with your backup data is not connected. Connect the disk to replicate a backup in it.

Cause

Drive containing the backup is not accessible or the backup has been deleted.

Solution

1) Connect the external drive with the backup to your computer and reattempt replication.

Replication is creating backups in multiple locations with a single backup plan. This feature allows replicating backups from a local/network storage to multiple local/network storage, to Acronis cloud, or to an on-premises cloud based on Acronis storage (applicable to Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud).

To set up replication:

Symptoms

After C20.08 release, it is not possible to change How long to keep settings for second, third and further locations in cyber protection plan. The field is not clickable:

Cause

Issue in the product.

Symptoms

  1. You have created an off-host data management plan for validation or replication,
  2. You have selected several backups in Items to validate/replicate, e.g. 'All backups',
  3. The plan validates or replicates only the first backup, further activities fail with an error:

    Task timeout expired

Cause

Passive CCR copy must be reseeded after recovery to continue replication

Symptoms

  1. You have a backup plan with replication. Backup format is set to Automatic selection in Backup options.
  2. The resulting archive is in Version 11 format as the original archive was created by older product version
  3. After the archive is deleted in original location, replication fails with the following error:

    Cannot use this type of backup archive.

Symptoms

This issue applies only to Windows 7 and Windows 2008R2

1. You create a backup plan backing up to a local folder with replication to a network folder

2. After backup runs 2-3 times, backup plan fails with the following error:

 Archive with the same name already exists.

Symptoms

You set up a scheduled plan for backup replication, separate from the backup plan.

The replication plan does not start on schedule but can be started manually. No error message is shown.

Cause

Issue in the product.

This issue will be fixed in one of the upcoming product updates.

Solution

In the meantime, contact Acronis Customer Central to obtain a special version of Acronis Scheduler with a fix.
